Berry Gordy’s Broadway spectacle Motown: The Musical  is embarking on its first national tour beginning April 22 at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre.  The four-time Tony-nominated show is based on Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to music mogul and includes songs from the label’s biggest stars including Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.

Motown: The Musical  grossed over 1 million dollars in its first week of previews last March.  The tour will make stops in Detroit, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta and Charlotte with additional cities to be announced.
